Thanks local media, for keeping us in the know!
April 17, 2020
In times of uncertainty, few things hold more value than concise, accurate and timely information. It gives us the tools we need to make decisions and take actions to keep our families and loved ones safe.
Like all of you, The City of Red Deer has been navigating the COVID-19 pandemic for over a month now. We are in uncharted waters; we’ve never faced a challenge like this before. The situation is evolving and changing daily… sometimes hourly.
Local journalists, you’ve been there with us every step of the way; attending news conferences, interviewing leaders and asking thoughtful and important questions on behalf of the citizens you represent. Like us, we know many of you are working from home with a laptop and cell phone, doing your best with the tools you have. Others are in the newsroom or out in the field, conducting interviews, taking photos and gathering the information that matters to the people of Red Deer.
At a time when we are all working to prevent the spread and help our community navigate these challenges, we want to say thank you. Thank you for going to work every day and reporting the news for the people who rely on you.
On behalf of The City of Red Deer, cheers to you, all our local and central Alberta media, and thanks for working hard to keep us informed during these unprecedented times!
