A new era dawns on transit stops throughout Red Deer as crews recently completed installing solar lights on many Transit shelters throughout the city. These welcome additions have positioned The City of Red Deer as the leader in solar lighting at Transit stops in the province of Alberta.
In total, over 60 transit stops will be equipped with solar panels and button-activated lighting that will provide light for transit riders inside transit shelters and at bus stops around the city. Using a lighting system that provides and stores its own solar energy offers a reliable and sustainable safety feature for all Red Deer Transit users.
