Red Deerians invited to attend Pow Wow

June 20, 2022

In partnership with Red Deer Public Schools, Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools, Red Deer Polytechnic, The Red Deer Native Friendship Society and the Waskasoo Seepee Traditional Pow Wow planning committee, we are proud to bring back our Annual Waskasoo Seepee Traditional Pow Wow.

Happening on June 20, 2022 at the Servus Arena in Red Deer (4D 4725 43 St) everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend with no entry fee. Grand Entries are at 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. There will be food trucks on site, with free parking and a completely accessible venue for any level of mobility. Indigenous craft vendors will also be on site, as well as community resource information tables.

A traditional pow wow is about prayer, we want to encourage our Indigenous people to continue their healing journey and to bring attention to the children being found across Turtle Island, including them in our prayers for their safe journey back to their Creator. This pow wow will feature traditional drums, singers, and dancers in full regalia who will share their skill and cultural expression.

We will be accepting donations to the Red Deer Food Bank at this event, so make sure you bring any non-perishables you may not need.
